Raised in Edmonton, Akram is a dedicated Student-at-Law with Advocate Law. Working alongside senior lawyers, he is committed to understanding clients' needs and advocating for their best interests throughout the legal process. Akram values a collaborative approach to legal practice, guiding clients through legal challenges with clarity. His approach is grounded in empathy and diligence, with a focus on ensuring clients feel heard, informed, and supported at every stage of their legal matter.
After completing his Bachelor of Arts in Criminology, Akram obtained his Juris Doctor with Distinction from Bond University. During law school, he developed an interest in criminal and constitutional law, taking specialized courses and assisting one of his professors as a student research assistant. His foundation in legal research, analysis, and advocacy led him to participate in several moot competitions, where he achieved notable success. These experiences refined his advocacy, research, and negotiation skills, ultimately leading him to serve as a moot coach and student judge in his final year of law school.
Outside of his legal education, Akram gained valuable court experience through volunteer work with the Elizabeth Fry Society at the Alberta Law Courts, where he assisted clients and counsel with docket matters. He also supported the Edmonton Community Legal Centre by preparing administrative materials and assisting with legal file management. In addition to his legal work, Akram has been involved in various community volunteer roles, including youth coaching in martial arts and contributing to non-profit initiatives. His ongoing commitment to service reflects his dedication to both the legal profession and the broader community.
With the mentorship of the senior lawyers at Advocate Law, Akram is working toward completing his articles and becoming a full member of the Law Society of Alberta by 2026. In his spare time, he enjoys traveling, spending time outdoors, and golfing.
