Hannah Volk

Prior to law school, Hannah Volk obtained her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology with a
Minor in Crime, Law and Justice Studies with Distinctions from the University of Saskatchewan.
She later earned her Juris Doctorate from the University of Saskatchewan in 2020.

Hannah volunteered with Community Legal Assistance Services For Saskatoon Inner City
(CLASSIC), a poverty law clinic in Saskatoon, during her time in law school. This program
provides clients with legal information and assists lawyers with client matters. She also took the
Criminal Clinical Practicum, where she worked under the supervision of a prominent criminal
defence lawyer in Saskatoon on a murder trial. She was also able to work under staff lawyers at
Legal Aid on various criminal law matters.

Her articles have been published in the Saskatchewan Trial Lawyers Association Magazine.
These articles covered mental health and its effects on criminal procedures. Hannah has focused
her studies on advocating for those with mental health issues who find themselves in conflict
with the law.

Hannah has experience defending clients’ rights which are protected by the Charter of Rights and
Freedoms. She has successfully argued for bail and has worked on an array of criminal matters,
including: assault, sexual assault, child pornography, drug trafficking and drug possession
charges, firearms offences, fraud, dangerous driving causing death, impaired driving, murder and
manslaughter. Additionally, Hannah has experience in Appellate work and has successfully
argued Appeals for her clients.

Hannah is available to defend clients across Central Alberta, including: Red Deer, Rocky
Mountain House, Didsbury, Ponoka and Wetaskiwin.
